www.planbook.comI found this amazing website a few summers ago that I use to record my plans. I absolutely love this tool! Again this year, I have decided to post my plans through this awesome website that I found and make them visible to my students and their families for better communication and transparency. The site will have my daily lesson plans with all components including curriculum standards. The daily plans will help guide you when you ask the question, "What did you do in school today?" I hope that it is useful for families.
All you need to do is:
WARNING!!! PLANS CHANGE PERIODICALLY without prior notice. BUT I WILL TRY MY BEST TO UPDATE THEM ACCORDINGLY. Access to my plans is a communication tool from school to home BUT I value being a responsive educator and with kinders, FLEXIBILITY is KEY! |
ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL
|
SCHOOL MENUSThe school menu can be found on the school’s website and it is included in the school’s monthly newsletter. If you choose to purchase the school lunch, please write your child’s name on the envelope with my name and send the envelope into school in his or her folder. Paying with check is the easiest and safest way☺ OR You can set up a PAY PAMS account. Be on the look out for those forms in your child's Home/School Folder.
|
quiet time & RECESSQUIET TIME:
During quiet time, your child will be expected to lie down and relax for almost 15 minutes a day. To provide a soothing atmosphere, the lights will be dimmed and calming music will be played or an educational video on the SMART board. Eventually, this time becomes more of a silent reading time where students build stamina reading to themselves for practice and enjoyment.

Sharing time

snackStudents will be able to eat a snack. Your child will be responsible for bringing in their own snack EVERYDAY or they can buy a snack pack from the cafeteria.

Book ordersOnline Ordering Information:
www.scholastic.com/bookclubs Our Class Activation Code: R66YC Our classroom’s partnership with Scholastic will enable you to purchase the best and newest books for your child at VERY low prices. With new online ordering from Scholastic Book Clubs, you can choose from a much wider selection of books than in the printed flyer. Plus, you can send your orders directly to me online and use your credit card. Best of all, our class earns a FREE book every time a parent places their order online. There are many terrific deals in these issues. Please take advantage of the low prices and remember that each dollar spent with Scholastic is earning points toward much needed books for the classroom. It’s so simple! Here’s how it works: 1. GO ONLINE to www.Scholastic.com/bookclubs. On the parent page, click the "Don't have a User Name and Password?" link, then register for your own username and password to use all year long! When prompted, enter the one-time Class Activation Code (R66YC). This code ensures that your order is sent to me. 2. SELECT the books you'd like to order from over 500 titles available online...and take advantage of online-only specials and discounts. 3. SEND your order to me online by the due date. Books will be delivered directly to our classroom within just a few weeks of ordering. |

We will be having a brief Open House so that the children will have a chance to view the classroom, meet us again, and tour the school with families. This will not include a bus ride home – families will take the children home after the visit. This typically is the day before students start school. See the Chesterfield Website for more information.

This year, Wednesday, May 25, 2022 @ 6:30 pm. the Parent Kindergarten Informational Meeting will take place. THESE PROCEDURES MAY BE CHANGED DUE TO COVID!
What should I send my child with on his/her birthday? If you would like to send something in for the entire class on this day, please send me a note or an email letting me know what you or your child will be bringing. Due to Covid and germs, we would like to avoid the sharing of snacks or cupcakes to celebrate birthdays. Instead of a birthday snack, perhaps your child would like to send small, inexpensive items such as pencils, erasers, stickers, bookmarks, treat bags, etc., for each student. Last year, students brought in a book to read with the class. Some brought in a book from home, while others purchased a book to be donated to our classroom. Feel free to talk to me about good ideas for books that we are in need of or any book your child loves and chooses. How do you celebrate my child's birthday? We want to make your child's birthday a meaningful one. At snack time, the class will sing the "Happy Birthday Song" to the student. I will place a special crown on the child's head so everyone knows it's his/her birthday. The students will also receive a birthday birthday pencil. Finally, the birthday child will get to choose the book I read to the class at the end of the day or read their Birthday Donation Book. What a special day for our birthday child! When do you celebrate summer birthdays? We will celebrate summer birthdays during the last month of school. I will choose the day that each will be celebrated on and it will be known as their Pre-Birthday! Summer birthday children will receive the same special treatment as if it were their real birthday. Can I send birthday party invitations to school to be passed out to the children? Yes, you may send your child to school with invitations, but there MUST be an invitation for each child in the class and is our school policy. This way no feelings will be hurt. If there are invitations sent in for select students, I will have to return them back to you. In Kindergarten, we strive to include all of our friends. Thanks for your cooperation with this matter. |
